Hold on to your cinema seats, because African media mogul, Mo Abudu is no way near done with building the empire that is EbonyLife. The Nigerian media company started off as a television station in 2013, after which it expanded into film in 2015, launching with the drama, Fifty. Subsequently, EbonyLife films has produced blockbuster films such as The Wedding Party (2016), The Wedding Party 2 (2017), and Chief Daddy (2018).
On June 30th 2019, the sixth anniversary of the company’s launch, Mo Abudu announced a new venture – EbonyLife Place, an exclusive luxury lifestlye resort, which will reportedly be open before the end of the year.
Via her Instagram page, the CEO and holder of Forbes ‘Africa’s Most Successful Woman’ title said:
“We [are] going to bring you five (5) luxury cinema screens, world class cuisines in two of our exclusive restaurants and if you wish, you could check into our five star exclusively created boutique hotel.” She went on to express gratitude to viewers and supporters. “We thank you Nigeria and the world, for loving what we do and I say happy birthday to us! #EbonyLifeAt6 #6YearsOfSuccess”
