American model and TV presenter, Ashley Graham is a beacon of light and hope in the movement to encourage body positivity. The 32-year-old became a symbol of the social crusade when she began being noticed as one of the few famous faces in the plus-size modelling world.
Now expecting a child with husband, Justin Ervin, Graham has continued to spread that message of positivity, sharing unedited images of herself and posting photos that show he ever-changing body – stretch marks, folds and all.
But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows; the mum-to-be still has her struggles. In a preview for the next episode of her new digital series, Fearless on Ellen DeGeneres’ channel EllenTube, Ashley opens up, saying, “The reason I posted […] was because I’d just announced I was pregnant and I thought then that I was going to feel good and I didn’t, I just felt terrible.”
Getting visibly emotional, she continued, “I really thought to myself, “Get it together, Ashley. There’s other women out there that are going through the same thing as you. Why don’t you have a dialogue with them?””
She also reveals she felt lonely on the pregancy journey, but is on a mission to keep embracing her body for what it is.
“This is a new body I’m walking into, why don’t I just put myself out there with this new body? I felt so isolated and so alone, so I’ve had to come into this new world of body confidence.”

The minute I meet another pregnant woman or new mom the first thing we do is exchange the “list” of must have items to help get through pregnancy and postpartum. The second thing that happens is that I have to pee. @fridamom and @fridababy are at the top of every mom’s list and I feel so lucky to have partnered with such an incredible brand! We need to be having honest conversations about what happens with our own bodies and I love that they inspire us to do that. @cmrh thank you for all that you do for moms out there!
