It’s a little wonder after 9 years of churning out good music and being tagged as one of the most ‘underrated’ music acts from Nigeria, Burna Boy has risen lately to one of the most recognized artists in 2019. Earlier this year, there was an uproar all over the internet when the most popular music festival in the world ‘Coachella’ released its performance line-up;  upset his name was written in little fonts, Burna Boy took it upon himself to show the world that he didn’t come to play in the music industry and he is truly an African Giant.

Since then, he has gone ahead to win awards at almost every award show this year with the biggest being the ‘Best International Act’ at the BET, but more recently he got recognised last night as ‘Best African Act’ at the MTV EMA’s, he was up against other musicians like TooFan (Toga), Nasty C (South Africa) and Teni (Nigeria).
