For its resourcefulness and innovation, Rwanda has been recognised at the Chinese Travel fair as the most distinctive tourist destination.
The Guangzhou International Tourism Fair which holds annually hosted over 150 exhibitors from 55 countries to promote their products. The Rwandan embassy made sure to exhibit home-grown innovations which include the start of commercial flights operation to Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province in southern China by RwandAir.
According to Charles Kayonga, Rwanda’s Ambassador to China, this development would enable trade between the two nations, boost tourism and investments as China – Africa trade in general. He also mentioned, “it has become more convenient for Chinese tourists to travel to Rwanda as they can now book Rwandan tourism products online through the VisitRwanda flagship store on ‘Fliggy,’ a tourist app for Alibaba, China’s largest e-commerce platform.”
We are definitely looking forward to more collaborations that would put the African continent at the forefront of infrastructural development.
