The Maiden Edition of Africa’s 1st streetwear themed fashion show ‘THE LAGOS URBAN FASHION SHOW 2017’ took place last year at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. According to the organizers, the aim of the show is to create the first ever platform for young and upcoming streetwear designers from Nigeria to showcase their wears to top fashion buyers, trendsetters, fashion editors, media houses, corporate bodies and fashion enthusiasts and also to promote the budding streetwear culture of Lagos (Nigeria’s fashion capital & most populous city).
The event kicked off with a fanciful exhibition during the day and the runway show followed with 23 street wear designers like ELIELS, DRIK, IAN ADORNISS, HOUSE OF PAE, MIAMI LDN, SEW BY SERBIA, JADEEL , STYLE ACADEMY, SHEELS URBANE, TAG WEARS, LE SHOKS, SAPPHIRE BY TIERI, RHE RHE SWIM WEAR, MUNNA CLOTHING, ARK 990 CREATIONS, JOE PAGATANGA, INA, VALISIMO FASHION HOUSE, BLAQ CONCEPTZ, VISIBLE PROOF, ANN ONIMOE, HOUSE OF HAUTE VOU & JERRYMAYAAH CLOTHIER ,showcasing their African inspired street wear collections. The show was a night of runway presentations, musical performances ,creative networking, collaboration opportunities and setting of new fashion trends. See all the images in our gallery.
