High-waisted Jeans have become a must-have wardrobe staple for that flattering hourglass effect. They are literally a girl’s best friend for hiding that love handle, belly bulge, and muffin top, giving you that ‘Kim K’ effect we most desire. The versatility of these jeans are also a plus, you can literally style the high-waisted jeans with soo many pieces and achieve different looks.

Wanting new ideas to style high-waisted jeans outfits? I have collated 5 different looks to bring you excitingly smart, casual, sexy and chic alternatives for your next look.

Look 1: The Smart Casual

Featured Brands: Asos Jeans, Dolce & Gabanna Bag, Dior pumps, Celine Sunglasses and Topshop Blazer.

Pair your high-waisted jeans with a blazer for that sophisticated casual look. When styling this look, tuck the camisole into the jeans to create a slender silhouette for your outfit. Add a smart blazer to give a more formal illusion and slip on a pair of kitten heels for that trendy touch or pair with stilettos for that touch of extra glam.

Tip: Only opt for one-shade jeans for the smart casual look. Also, avoid ripped or acid wash jeans if you intend for a smart casual look.

Look 2: The Evening Glam

Featured Brands: Zara Jeans, Topshop Baroque Top, Cult Gaia Clutch and Louboutin Soo Kate heels.

Contrary to popular opinion, high-waisted jeans can be glamourized for that high-end evening look. The trick to achieving this is paring your jeans with an eye-popping super stylish top to create a trophy look. Accessorizing with high-end pieces would add an element of sophistication to that evening perfection.

Tip:  Stick to black or white high-waisted jeans for an evening look. Clean lines are what you’re after to make sure this look is more glamorous than fussy.

Look 3: The Casual Chic

Featured Brands: Zara bodysuit, Topshop jeans, Jimmy Choo heels, Dior clutch and Zara earing

Bodysuits and high-waisted jeans are a perfect match made in fashion heaven. Ripped high-waisted jeans with a tucked in bodysuit are complementary pieces with a trendy touch. The frayed hem paired with an embellished kitten heel also adds a bit of flair and panache to this look.

Tip: You can also style this look with a pair of sneakers for an understated yet chic look.

Look 4: The Trendsetter

Featured Brands: Prettylittlething blouse, Asos jeans, Prada tote, Louboutin heels and Tomford sunglasses.

Accentuate the length of your legs in high-waisted fitting jeans. Wrap blouses are my personal favourite wardrobe staple for a trendy and feminine look. Simply temper the drama by adding a bold floral print blouse or play it safe with a classic monotone blouse, either way, you are guaranteed to stand out.

Tip: Avoid over blousy voluminous tops for unequal proportion. The less bulky the blouse is, the more silhouette your high-waisted jeans create.

Look 5: The Sport Luxe

Featured Brands: Zara jeans, Fame cropped hoody, Diorama bag, Fitbit, Adidas trainers and Dior sunglasses

By now, you’ve probably realised just how stylish a sporty look can be. Pairing an activewear with high-waisted jeans, you achieve a cool and stylish streetwear look. With high-end brands like Balenciaga, Gucci, and Alexandra Wang at the forefront of this sports luxe trend, expect to see more of the athleisure looks.

Tip:  Make a minimalist fashion statement in monotone sports luxe look and add a pop of colour with an accessory.
