OFF-WHITE’S NEW £1,400 BAG ACTUALLY CAN’T CARRY A SINGLE THING

We’re in an era of fashion where the practicality of a piece of clothing, a pair of shoes or a set of accessories is no longer the basis for its creation. During Paris Fashion Week, Off-White, founded by American creative designer, Virgil Abloh, debuted a new ‘bag’, covered in holes.

The bag was created to look as if meteors had punched through its leather body, leaving it damaged, and although you can carry it as a clutch, it can’t hold any belongings – bank cards, lipstick, keys, you name it.

The bag, which retails at about £1,400, is said to have been created to serve more as art – as you would imagine – than your go-to holdall. According to the brand, this new design challenges “the concept of a bag itself, one of the most common objects in our everyday lives.”
