IT’S TIME! THE #VDJ18 STYLE RECAP YOU DIDN’T THINK YOU NEEDED!

Another year and yet another memorable VDJ experience has passed. There are countless events on the South African social calendar to look forward to but there???s no soiree as good or as anticipated as the Durban July Handicap. It???s the most glamorous and exciting horse racing and fashion mid-year event on the continent and this year???s fashion was better than it has ever been before. The theme of the day was ???It???s Time??? so let???s take a fashion fuelled walk through time to appreciate the show-stopping power suits spotted in Greyville this past Saturday.

Floral prints have always been a hit on the fashion front and yesterday was no different. We???re all for easy going pastel colours, soft ruffles and low v-necklines that were the perfect details to match a beautiful Durban day at the race course.

The newly crowned Miss South Africa, Tamaryn Green stepped out in Galluzzi e Gini, a brand which is no stranger to the reigning queens of the nation. It was simply impossible not to notice the beautifully flared ombre one piece which is right on trend this season and perfect for a chilly winter affair.

Judging by the social media frenzy last night, these three metallic suits were a choice favourite. Numbers don???t lie and based on the collective likes on Twitter and Instagram, these ladies knocked it out the park. We couldn???t get enough of the sophisticated details of K Naomi???s tailored suit and we???re still awestruck by Boity???s regal ensemble, made by one of SA???s favourites, Orapeleng Modutle.

And, this futuristic tasselled suit was not left off the list either. What???s there not to love about it?

There were a number of pink looks spotted in Greyville yesterday, however, it was these three suits that left a lasting impression on the fashion republic of Twitter and the streets of the gram. We were all left swooning over the sheer cape details as well as the winter stoles for the perfect pink finish.
