Early in the summer of 2019, Virgil Abloh took a much needed 3-month hiatus from his normally busy schedule per Doctor’s orders. In a released statement to confirm the news, he said “essentially I’m working from home for the next three months and in large part all my marketing events I’m cancelling,” this resulted in him cancelling all public appearances including his ‘Off-White’ SS20 show at the Paris Fashion Week.
The Men’s wear Artistic Director is also the CEO of Off-White, a luxury fashion label. When he isn’t busy creating for fashion, he holds the forte as an artist or a DJ and just two days ago he took to his Instagram page to announce his return in a post captioned “just signed to @galeriekreo ~ exhibition of new work titled “efflorescence” come January ©2020”
Efflorescence is a twenty-piece collection featuring objects like round and coffee tables, consoles, seats, vases, and mirrors. It explores how humans and their environment can have an effect on the “rigid blocks that form the foundation of cities, such as graffiti adding decorative flair, or foliage filling the cracks.”
