TITI ADESA FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR, TITI ADESANYA SPEAKS TO THE BBC ON THE LONG-TERM VISION FOR BLACK-OWNED BUSINESSES

In a televised interview on the current wave of support for Black-owned businesses, the revolutionary Black Lives Matter movement and her eponymous brand, luxury footwear label, Titi Adesa, designer, Titi Adesanya shares her thoughts on the long-term effect of the world’s attitude towards Black entrepreneurs.

Speaking with presenter, Peter Okwoche on BBC’s World Focus, Titi reveals, “For me, what’s most important is representation across the board. Diversity is great but I think the real differentiator for change starts from inclusion – and that starts from interns, all the way up to the execs making the decisions.”

On a more personal level, Titi discusses how Black-owned businesses must continue to rise to meet – surpass, even – industry standards.????

“From within as well, for us as Black-owned brands, we need to maintain the highest level of excellence that we already know and already strive for – and that’s for the generations ahead as well, not just for us.”
