Just incase you somehow missed it, Disney is bringing the magic of The Lion King back to our screens, this Summer. The first animated feature film was released in 1994, directed by by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff, with an outstanding voice cast cast that included Matthew Broderick, James Earl Jones, Jeremy Irons, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Moira Kelly, Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella, Whoopi Goldberg, Jim Cummings and many more.
Now, in 2019, the remake of this timeless movie – directed by Jon Favreau, with a script from Jeff Nathanso – will feature some of entertainment’s biggest names: Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, and Alfre Woodard as Sarabi.
Although Disney had released posters in May 2019, depicting each of the amazingly hyperrealistic animal characters, a new set has just been publicised, showing the real-life actors (literally) having the most magnificent face-off with their respective characters – and we’re spooked and (far more) excited in equal measures.
The Lion King will be in cinemas, from July 19. Watch the trailer below:
