THE PROCEEDS FROM BURNA BOY’S UPCOMING CONCERT WILL BE DONATED TO VICTIMS OF XENOPHOBIA

Afrobeat hit maker, Burna Boy continues his fight against xenophobic attacks. In September, at the height of the violence against Nigerians and other Africans in South Africa, Burna Boy expressed his anger on social media, tweeting he would never visit the country again.

“I have not set foot in SA since 2017. And I will NOT EVER go to South Africa again for any reason until the SOUTH AFRICAN government wakes the f–k up and really performs A miracle because I don’t know how they can even possibly fix this, ” he wrote.

The artist is however set to perform at the upcoming Africans Unite concert in South Africa, organized by Nigeria’s Play Network, later this month. Beyond that, Burna Boy has vowed to donate a portion of the proceeds to victims of xenophobia.

Via Twitter, he announced, “The first of many! Part of the proceeds will be donated to the victims of Xenophobic attacks by me! I really hope we can all keep contributing in our own way to make the world a better and safer place for each other. #Africansunite , it’s bigger than all of us.”

The concert lineup includes rappers Jidenna (United States), Kwesta, singer, Busiswa and others.
