With reboot season in session, Marvel announced at the annual Comic Convention that happened over the weekend its intention to have a Blade franchise remake. The 20-year-old production tells the story of Blade, a half-vampire superhero who hunts down vampires; the original was played by legendary actor Wesley Snipes.
Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, also announced Mahershala Ali as the new lead actor for the Franchise’s reboot. Mahershala is popular for his acting and is a two-time recipient of the Academy Awards in Moonlight as Juan (2016) and Greenbook as Don Shirley (2018), he has been recognised as the first Muslim actor to win an Oscar for acting.
Kevin Feige makes it known that Mahershala had reached out to him for the role and “When Marhershala calls, you answer”.
