Amanda Lucidon took the job as the White House photographer in 2013. Her task was to follow Michelle Obama’s every move for four years, taking candid shots and capturing every moment of the former FLOTUS, from meetings to formal and informal remarks, to official events and domestic and international travels. Today, Lucidon released a coffee table book, Chasing Light: Michelle Obama Through the Lens of a White House Photographer, consisting of 150 never-before-seen colour images from her tenure. In a press release, Lucidon said “Mrs Obama is a source of light and inspiration in my life. She was a mentor to me and so many people around the world“.
