If you’re looking for a way to give your mane a new lease on life, try one of these recipes on for size
#1: For a protein fix
The recipe:
- 1 egg ( 2 eggs if your hair is longer)
- 2-3 Tablespoons honey
- 2-3 Tablespoons of oil (any oil will do, pick your favourite kind)
- Cheap conditioner – The conditioner is there for added moisture and consistency, so pick a moisture based conditioner, and add enough to make the mask consistent, you don’t want it to be a rinse.
Mix the ingredients and massage them into your hair. Leave it in the hair under a plastic hood for 30 minutes. When rinsing the mask make sure the water is not too hot, as the egg yolk would otherwise stick. The olive oil cares for enough moisture in the afro hair and the egg yolk makes your hair shine
#2: Get your dose of biotin
The recipe
- 1/4th Avocado
- Half a Banana
- 2- 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 2-3 Tablespoons Mayo
Grind the avocado and banana with a fork and add the mayonnaise and olive oil to it. Rinse thoroughly for 20-30 minutes. The mayonnaise nourishes the hair structure and provides you with stronger hair.
#3: To restore moisture and strengthen the hair
All you need is enough yoghurt to cover your hair in its entirety and mix in two tablespoons of honey, voila!
#4: Four oil hair masks
The recipe:
- 4 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon jojoba oil
- 1 teaspoon castor oil
Mix the oils together and heat briefly. Massage the oils into your hair and let it act for 20-30 minutes. Washing out- voilá!
#5: Coconut Hair Repair
The recipe:
- 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil
- 1 Tablespoon of Honey
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Transfer mix into a pot and heat up until melted. Apply to hair from top to bottom and cover with a shower cap. Let it sit for 15-20 mins then rinse. The Coconut Hair Repairing Mask restores the moisture and shine back into your hair and softens it.
