TOOLZ BRINGS DIVERSITY TO THE WORLD OF LINGERIE WITH SABLIER

Lingerie has power. While it may be something designed to be hidden, it’s no coincidence that lingerie is kept close to the heart; after all, what other clothing item has the potential to make us feel good about showing off our bodies?

But not all power is deployed responsibly. Many of today’s lingerie brands—especially those produced by giant corporations—prioritize a specific, model-thin body type and solely advertise unrealistic beauty ideals. The good news is that there are other companies working to bring diversity into the lingerie world, labels that promote bodies of all sizes, colours, and shapes.

For women of all sizes, finding a good bra-and-panty set that fits is often a real struggle. By this time, we’re convinced that traditional bras—the ones with excess padding, inflexible underwire, and the infamously restrictive back clasp—were invented by men as a form of medieval torture. We’ve long been searching for a new line that would be comfortable, livable, and still supportive. Enter: Sablier

Nigerian Media personality, Toolz Oniru-Demuren says she felt a growing need to create the Sablier pronounced Sab-Lee-Ay line, after a futile search for a lingerie that would fit her body in Nigeria. According to her;

“A HUGE PART OF MY PERSONAL JOURNEY WAS FINDING CLOTHING, LINGERIE AND APPAREL OPTIONS THAT CATERED SPECIFICALLY TO MY NEEDS AS A CURVY WOMAN. I DIDN’T FIND A LOT OF OPTIONS IN NIGERIA, AND MOST OFTEN WOULD SHOP WHEN I TRAVELED. IT’S ONLY NATURAL THAT I TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE OF PROVIDING COMFORTABLE BUT ATTRACTIVE OPTIONS FOR PLUS-SIZE AFRICAN WOMEN WHO STRUGGLE WITH FINDING BRANDS THAT CATER TO THEM.”

For the most part, the new line of lingerie products offers a range of both comfortable and sexy underwear, and you can be sure each piece was carefully created as brand owner Toolz, ensured she knew exactly what she was getting into by taking a course in lingerie and swimwear design at the London College of Fashion.

The Slabier lingerie brand is bold, true and sexy and is the right step in body positivity.
