Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo might just be “handing over their crown” as the world’s best players to our SCHICK Man and teenage France forward Kylian Mbappe, says former England defender Rio Ferdinand! Mbappe, 19, scored his side’s fourth goal as France beat Croatia 4-2 in the World Cup final in Moscow, and won the tournament’s best young player award.
The 19-year-old enjoyed a sensational tournament as France went to the final to win the World Cup for the second time. Paris St-Germain forward Mbappe is only the second teenager to score in a World Cup final after Pele in 1958. Sixty years had come and gone without anyone matching the legend’s record until the PSG wunderkind decided to strike.
Mbappé was born in Paris, France. His father, Wilfried Mbappé, hails from Cameroon and, as well as being his agent, is a football coach, while his mother, Fayza Lamari hails from Algeria and is a former handball player. His adoptive brother Jirès Kembo Ekoko is also a professional football player. He also has a younger brother Ethan Mbappé who plays for PSG under-12s. Growing up his idol was Cristiano Ronaldo, with his bedroom walls covered with posters of the player and now he may just continue with Ronaldo’s legacy.
